Prof. Li An’s research focuses on complex human-environment systems/science, data science, spatial analysis and modeling, landscape ecology, and complexity theory. He is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a “lifetime distinction awarded to leading scientists across the world” (AAAS announcement). He is a Fellow of the American Association of Geographers (AAG) as one of the “geographers who have made significant contributions to advancing geography” (AAG announcement). He is the President-Elect of the International Association for Landscape Ecology (IALE–North America)
